Dr. Jordi Mirö has provided us with an immensely useful service in publishing this synthesis of research into the Catalan wine amphorae. The core of the book is his Doctoral Thesis, which was read at the University of Barcelona (Central) in 1987, and which draws upon the published evidence that has accumulated over the last 25 years.It also includes much hitherto unpublished material gathered from sites and museums in Catalunya, France, Germany, Italy and Tunisia.
